Chinedu Okoli, Ph.D.
Senior Scientist, Data & Modeling Sciences, Corporate R&D, Procter & Gamble
Chinedu Okoli, Ph.D., is a Simulation and Optimization Engineer working with the Technical & Energy Development Group at Woodside Energy. He specializes in the synthesis & design, modeling, optimization, techno-economic, and life cycle assessment of chemical engineering-based processes, and products. In his current role, Dr. Okoli develops end-to-end systems level modeling and optimization-based tools that help evaluate various opportunities in the energy transition space, including LNG, ammonia, and CO2 to products.
Prior to joining Woodside, he was a Senior Scientist, Data & Modeling Sciences, Corporate R&D at Procter & Gamble (P&G) where he was a Process & Product Systems Modeling (PPSM) subject matter expert and capability owner of the discipline. In that role he provided technical leadership to the PPSM community at P&G, including defining the priorities of the discipline, required technical skills, and aligning software strategy.
Before joining P&G, Dr. Okoli was a technical team lead at KeyLogic Systems, where he provided his technical expertise to support the Process Systems Engineering Research Team (PSER) at the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). While at NETL, he contributed to the development of the open-source modeling and optimization-based software tool, IDAES, and was the team lead for the PSER chemical looping projects and the development of the IDAES gas-solid contactors library. Other technologies he worked on include solid oxide fuel cells, and direct air capture systems.
Dr. Okoli holds a BEng. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Port-Harcourt, Nigeria, a MSc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester, England, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from McMaster University, Canada.
