Dr. Ana I. Torres

Ana I. Torres (CMU) is an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research brings together modeling, analysis and optimization to design clean and sustainable processes. In particular, Dr. Torres has vast experience in processes for the conversion of biomass and residues into fuels and chemicals, energy storage of renewable non-programmable sources (P2P and P2X-green hydrogen), and carbon capture. Dr. Torres has studied both Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Universidad de la República, Montevideo, Uruguay, and earned her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. She has co-authored over 40 journal/full conference papers and 3 book chapters.
